We have a very special family show for children aged 7+ at the Albany this half-term. It has accessible performances (captioned, audio described and Relaxed versions) and combines an epic space adventure with reflection on what it’s like when illness changes the family dynamic. It’s exciting and beautiful in equal measure.
Metro News Flash: Metro Tennis Tournament – Sunday 17 Feb
The Metro Tennis Tournament will be on Sunday 17 Feb 2019
Date: Sunday 17th February 2019 Time: 10.00 am – 5.00 pm
Venue: Islington Tennis Centre (ITC) Market Road, London N7 9PL
Details: Metro Blind Sport’s annual club tournament is open to existing Metro members 16+ classified B1 – B5.
By popular demand, the day will consist of a B1 singles competition, a B2-B5 men’s doubles competition and a B2-B5 women’s doubles competition.
Closing Date for receipt of entries: Tuesday 5th February 2019
Registration: 9:45 am to 10:15 am in the Upstairs Gallery. Play will start promptly at 10:30 am and finish by 5 pm. We have three courts booked; two will be set up for B2-B5 doubles, and one for B1 singles.
Trophies: Trophies will be presented in the upstairs Gallery at 5 pm.
Cost: £5 per player payable on the day.

Student Network -Stand Up and Speak Out – 21st Feb
Student Network Event – 3rd Dec 2018 POSTPONED!!!
Event has been postponed. Apologies for the inconvenience – new date to be determined in the new year.
London Vision will be hosting our 2nd VI Student Network event next month on Monday 3rd December 6pm – 8pm at Pocklington Hub.
At this event guests will hear from two organisations that specialise in supporting blind & partially sighted students and graduates into meaningful and accessible internships, and guests will also have a chance to network with both of our speakers, and with each other.
Please RSVP by Friday this week so that we can ensure we have enough support for the event. This being our last event before the festive season we will ensure we’ve got plenty of drinks and snacks to get us in the party mood, so don’t miss out.

Low vision clinic Thursday 18th October and 22nd November 2018
If you or anyone you know could benefit from visiting the optometrist and is a Wandsworth resident, please contact the centre to book a place.
This clinic is for people with low vision only, where good vision cannot be achieved with spectacles or contact lenses, during a low vision assessment, the optometrist will perform an examination to identify any problems with focusing and demonstrate low vision devices such as specialist spectacles, magnifiers or telescopes that could help you see better.
Low Vision Clinic times are every half hour, please contact the centre to book a slot.
